Hello!!! I have an Aro 10.4 1.9d and I live in Argentina

Hello,
I've had my Aro 10.4 1.9d (Renault) for a year now. It was pretty beat-up when I got it, but slowly I'm trying to recuperate and reform it.
Here you can see it after a day in the mud.
There are very few of these in Argentina (I've talked to the guy that had the dealership in Buenos Aires and he told me he sold aprox 200) and even fewer diesel ones.
I'd like to know where I can find disassembly manuals (a digital version would be awesome) for this model...
Does Anybody know?
Also, I am involved with the Argentinian forum for Aro (there's more than a hundred members) and we always need spare parts... Is there anybody in this forum that sells spare parts?

Yes, Of course.
We have two sites that we use to share experiences and knowledge.
there's the original forum, where we just post stuff, if we wanna sell or buy something, etc:

But it's sort of anonymous, I mean, you don't become a member, you just post stuff.
Lately, though, there's been a lot of movement in our group on facebook, which we ended up using pretty much like this forum (the romanian one I mean)... but, there you can see people's faces, look at their pictures (there's a ton of pictures of the "argentinian" aros)... load manuals (like I did with the ones I gathered here)...
this is our group: "yo tengo un jeep aro!" (just type that on facebook).
As I said before, currently we are 130 something, and we even have a couple of foreign members... Only venezuelans I think.
If any of you wanna find me on facebook, be sure to look for me, I'm Juan Manuel Abago. I can then patch you through to the group.
Be aware though, that as far as I know, only a couple of them speak english.
That's why I came to this forum... to gather info, that could help them too.
Oh, I forgot, Marcelo Guellin, who's a member here, it's sort of our Aro Guru, hehe.
He used to have a repair shop entirely dedicated to Aro, and knows everything there is to know about the brand.

Finally, In a couple of days I'll give you details on a looooooong trip I am planning with my Aro.
I dont want to jinx it!

Truly impressive.

After about nine years that Aro officially ended to be produced, it's pretty amazing how it still running out in America, Europe, North Africa and Middle East, and even with so many enthusiasts on facebook too.

I think the changes and repairs you've done on your 10.4 are sufficient for the journey that you'll do.

However, every year we have a few members who are present in "Aro experience days" , which is an expedition with all kinds of Aro models in Romania.

Who knows they can give you more tips about longer trips.

Because 20,000 km, crossing the entire Latin America, it´s really an epic journey that we want to follow up, if possible with photos.

P.S. ( If you'll stay in Colombia, please do not forget that they've the most iconic Aro M461)

I will stay for a month or so in Colombia, and I'll keep my eyes open... and If I see it, i'll take a picture of that m461.
I will also post pics of the trip in general, and if I have a problem, you guys have to help me!

oh, yeah. I have a question for you... as you know, my 10.4 is a diesel... and there's a guy here that is selling a 10.4 petrol transfer box. i don't need it, but i know that if i ever do, it will be impossible to find, so it'd be nice to have it as a spare... is it the same? will it fit my 10.4? i heard the transfer box is the same in both models, but i dont feel comfortable buying it blindly... should i? is there a part number anywhere so i can be sure?

My experience is only with Aro 24 series, because I have a thirty years old portuguese Aro, based on the Romanian model.

But here we've many Aro 10.4 owners, and soon they 'll provide the information you need, about the compatibility of the transfer box for petrol and diesel models.

Some parts from the transfer box from 1.4 engine 4 speed will fitt to your 1.9 5 speed ,but the transfer box is nott plug end play it's a little different, if is not expenssive you chan buy it, for future service.

check all the transmision & engine oill seals.. noo leaks are admited, you have a long jurney ahead,.
inspect all engine hoses &electrical sistem ,charging main &sec, fuse pannels offen oxidise, end you chan have some problems with it, check for lossen bolts -wisual at least.
gresse the transmision front & modified rear main shafts , chech by hand
engine & transimision ruber mountings, grees the steering lincs ( steering shaft ( under the dash articulation end, at the stering box,- if the steering box its with servo chec & repalce oiil,, if is manual steering chech steering play end you chan adjut the play by torqing the large nut end bolt ( loseen nut,retorq the bolt until play its small enuf) dont overt torq'it, the steering wil worc hard)
chech the termo swich ,fans& engine termomecanic watter valve ( termostat), belts
cheec the articulated ball joints off the steering lincage, &semi- steering box (pivot) , chech the main ball joints at the front suspension assi. chech weels beering play
offen at this engine end trany this tipe, the axle theat lincs the clutch disc too the transmision , has a short pice of pipe with splines in it,. the splines chan wear end thear, resultting in no power from the engine end clutch too the transmision, at some char the advanced wear chan macke some strange noise ( beering tipe)

the cupling pice tiers down do to the lack of lubing ( is expose at the elements.- the transmision end clutch cover fave a space betwin full wit air, and watter.dust..chan enter betwin.. (you chan inspect theat under the car) resulting in wear -

chech alll.. depends how the car was used by the last owner
