Hi Ramiro!
You do attempted to repair this device?
In the maximum number of cases the big play in steering box, that I've seen, the problem is not worn-out "worm pair". The problem was the deterioration of the bearings, and has successfully solved by replacing the bearings.

Let's just wait for the opinion of George about the similarity, or not, between the parts of Aro and Portaro.

Before changing the steering box, I will check if the problem is just the bearings.

Hi Ramiro!
Here's a not big picture of steering gear. It may be helpful?
Your Portaro identical to the "old" aro 24.

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
Dear, Maxim
We disassembled the steering components, and seen that it was only necessary to replace all the steering joints.
So, after we repaired the shock absorber and correct the deviation of the steering for the normal standard, the car has passed the annual periodic inspection.
Thankfully, I'm back on the road.

Hi, Maxim
After a long research, we found that the steering joints of the old Land Rover Series II were consistent with those of Portaro.
Can you believe it ?

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
I do not have a good catalogs of OEM numbers for LR.
Parts for LR (especially old) - only on request by OEM number.
If you can - give me all information from the sticker cartons TRW, from steering joints.
Please!

Hi, Maxim
Please, follow the link below, and you'll have the information you need about the steering joints.
However, pay attention to these notes:
The steering joints came inside the box that you saw in the picture, but, obviously, that's not the original box;
The steering joints are similar but not identical, and they had to be adapted!!

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
Hi, Guys
As far as I know, some of you are experts in mechanical issues, and so maybe you'll have a solution to my problem.
When my Portaro heats, the rear wheels lock and they smell a little burnt.
Which can be the problem? Brake system or discs?
Thanks.

Re: Portaro: Spare Parts
Hi Ramiro!
Some thoughts:
In first - check ease of movement the handbrake in cable sheath, and don't touching to whether it is to the exhaust system.
Also, remove rear drums, and check on the spot whether the locking spring pads and not stuck if corrosion of the pistons in the brake cylinders;
If these parts are ok - the problem may be:
master cylinder;
there is no clearence between the servo pushrod and the brake master cylinder;
problems with vakuum amplifier ( its valve);
problems with returning the brake pedal and the absence of free ( check spring and apply to the pedal shaft WD 40.
