In April 1937, was unveiled at the Crystal Palace, in the city of Porto, during a car festival named "Salão Automóvel do Porto", the Edfor, designed by the company EFI ( Eduardo Ferreirinha and brother, Ld ª).
The Portuguese car was the biggest event of the season, and was also being referred in the foreign press, notably in the German newspaper "Allgemeine Automobil Zeitung"

Although there's an information about the construction of 4 vehicles EDFOR, only two are for the record; one built in June 1937, and the other one in August 1939, probably due to the restrictions imposed by the 2nd World War.

The two famous number plates are the RP-10-30, and the NT-10-68.
The last one still exists and it's property of the Ferreirinha family, the original manufacturer, which is in excellent original condition, as we can see in the pictures below.

The renowned 101 years old Portuguese film Director, Manoel de Oliveira, one of the oldest in the world, acquired an Edfor built in 1936, which achieved great success as a racing driver in Portugal and Brazil.

In 2006, during an exhibition in the city of Porto, the cinephile returned to meet with the legendary car, which belongs now to the German Axel Walter.

In 1951, Dionisio Mateu built the 1st vehicle DIMA based on the chassis of Simca 1100, but he drew a beautiful body with a sport styling touch. The vehicle was fitted at the premises of the portuguese "Auto Federal, Ldª", with those following technical data:

The curiosity of "Dima"

The name "Dima" provoked a reaction by the "Panhard" brand because of its phonetic similarity with the model "Dyna", and so the brand changed the name of the vehicle to the Portuguese "DM", the initials of its founder, Dionísio Mateu...

Below, we can see a photo of the pilot Elísio de Melo driving a "Dima" during the VII Circuit of Vila Real, in 1951, and also a recent picture of a "DM" on Caramulo ramp in 2008...

MG Canelas

Between 1952 and 1954, José Jorge Canelas built one of the most important racing cars of the fifties.

As main feature, the car had a chassis made ​​of steel at the premises of "OGMA", and its body design was made by António Andrade.

In 1954, the vehicle was presented in the circuit of Monsanto, where José Canelas got the 7th place.
In 1955, the MG Canelas ran the famous street circuit of Boavista in the city of Porto.

ALBA

Between 1952 and 1955, António Augusto Pereira Martins and Francisco Corte-Real Pereira produced only three vehicles Alba, in the metallurgic factory of Albergaria-a-Velha: the OT-10-54, built in 1952, and the TN-10-82 , which appeared in 1953, both with yellow body. The LA-11-18, built in 1955, was the last Alba and they decided to paint it red.

The original and rare Tudor Vladimirescu Van, named Tagus, in Portugal, 4x4 Daihatsu Diesel Engine, for sale in the city of Setubal, which is located only 50 km far from Lisbon.

€ 2,500 is too expensive for the portuguese market, because the truck needs some restoration.
One of this days, If I go to Lisbon, maybe I could take some photos and ask more information about this classic truck.

Obviously, I think he sells the vehicle cheaper, because people do not know its value.
But this "Tagus" would be a precious jewel in your private collection of "TV Vans"...
Me Neder. I wouldn't exchange my "Portaro" by a "Defender" or a "Mercedes", because I don't like supermarket cars...

If Setubal would be closer to me, I think I wpuld buy him! When Spring comes, I must made a big travel to pick-up my last TV that I buy, a also very rare TV 41C.

Getting back to the evolution of the vehicle Alba, here´s one of the three rare prototypes built, present in the Caramulo museum in 2007: the model painted yellow was manufactured in 1952 with the number plate OT-10-54.
