Hi Ramiro!
Please attention!
I see some differences from the master cylinder, that is having at me. The difference - in connect unions. In them the valves of residual pressure, which provide work of system of automatic adjustment of a clearance for brake shoes, are established.
On both my ARO's I fitted master brakes cylinders from the others cars...
Also, I made or recommended to do such changes for others ARO in my town...
If You need some dimensions, I may to make it...

Hi, Max

I always hear carefully your advice.
In fact, there are some differences in connect unions of the master cylinder.
We'll see if it is possible to make adjustments.

Many thanks.

Hi, Maxim

The front brake mechanism as the brake shoe seems similar. But to give you a precise information I have to disassemble the wheel again.

Many thanks.

Hi!

The wheelbrake cylinder you have photographed are interchangeable with the first and second wheelbrake cylinders ARO mounted in the 24x from the 70-ies. Yours have a little bit other shape (ARO is more round) and the dustcaps are also little other shape (ARO doesnt has this little step in the rubber), but its the same.

Cause of the brakesystem picture from Maxim, the left picture is showing the first brakesystem ARO used in the beginning of the 70-ies, the right is showing the 3-rd brakesystem ARO used in the beginning of the 80-ies. There is also a 2nd brakesystem ARO used in the middle/end of the 70-ies. I have in the 1976 AROs the 2nd brakesystem. The second uses the same cylinders and brakepads like the first braksystem but the manualadjusting screw is missing and there is a other piston with a autoadjustmentpart in the cylinder.
The second brakesystem really sucks when you need new breakpads - cause of the missing of a manual adjusting screw the brakepads have NO mechanical guidance and the brakepads slip around in the brakedrum and need very long to braking time to sit right and proper in the brakewheel.

Here is a main brakecylinder from the 3-rd brakesystem generation, the M12 brakepipeconnectoers I have added because the orginal from the 3-re generation are to small (I think M10)

Greetings
David

Thanks for your detailed technical explanation, David.
I had to buy 4 used wheelbrake cylinders from the original model.

Last summer I decided to remove the roof of my Portaro to repair and paint the fiber.
As the rubbers of the glasses were damaged, I thought to replace them.
After several experiments with similar rubbers, Austin model, I ended up buying some 30 years old original rubbers, on Madeira island, in good condition.
Madeira island still have Portaros that were exported over there during the eighties, although some of them are in poor condition.
And that was the end of a several months nightmare...

Thanks, Werner!!

I had to travel a long winding way to put it completely original, as if he'd just leave the assembly line, in 1981, because when I bought it, in 2003, the vehicle was just a piece of rust... ;D
One day, I'll find the original photo and post it here. You'll be shocked!!

Annual periodic vehicle inspection report.

Here comes trouble, guys.
Standard deviation higher than 5 meters per kilometer, due to a little break in the steering box and superficial damage on the 2º left axel of the shock absorbers, which must be resolved before the next inspection.
From the beginning, I had problems with the steering box.

It's not so easy, George.
There aren't new parts for Portaro, and this one is already my second steering box.
As they are used, they've all the same problems, and the adaptation of a different steering box will require changes in the other components.
In his Aro 246, Maxim was able to install a power steering from a BMW 535, but the system of Portaro is quite different.
We'll see... :)

What I mean is that the steering box installed by Maxim in his Aro 246 requires too many changes considering the system of Portaro, which I believe is identical to the Aro.

Please, check the pictures below, and tell me if there are any differences between the original box of Portaro 260 and Aro 240.

Greetings.
