Hello Guy's,
I'm from germany and I've two Aro M461. My first one with an Multicar-engine from the GDR is in really bad condition but the second one is quiet good. It was stored in a romanian armee base until 2001. Now I started to restore the Aro and the thets the reason for the first questions.
I'm looking for the diverences between Aro L25 and Aro M207 engine. I got an Aro M461 in quiet good condition. But I'm not sure which kind of engine is installed. The original romanian registration document says it's an L25 but at the engine I can find the figures 207 like the M207. Now I'm not sure which engine it is. Do you guys know differences which will help me to identify my engine.
Probably somebody can find out the kind of engine by serial number. The serial of my engine is 129324. It is from 1974. The serial of the car is 75319 and it's build 1975.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Difference between Aro L25 and Aro M207 engine
The easy way is to check the engine block under the exhaust manifold, where the type is engraved (25 XXXX ... for L 25 or 207 XXXX … for M207)
Or just look for the oil filter location:
• filter on the same side as the carburettor => M207
• filter opposite side with carburettor => L25

NB : 1975 => very likely you have an L25 ( see atachemnt)
