Here's the Portaro 250 DP, pick-up version, with canvas hood.
The diversity of the models produced by Semal, and its innovative image, robustness of construction and durability have made the Portaro a sales success in the 70s and 80s.
SEMAL sold about 7,000 vehicles in Portugal and exported several thousand for Europe and Middle East.

In the early 80 starts to be produced intensively the most sophisticated models of Portaro: the 260 Celta (diesel) and 230 P Celta (petrol) with turbo engines.

Changes were introduced in the conception and design, with more luxury fittings, different hard-top, new rims, and more mechanical power.

Here’s the most evolved model built by SEMAL, in all its splendour: The Portaro 260 Celta Turbo Diesel.

The first Daihatsu turbo engine was developed in Portugal by Electromechanical Automobile Company (SEMAL) and tested and assembled in Portaro.

Till the end of October we have two Portaros present in the largest portuguese museums integrated into the exhibition of the portuguese car manufacturing.

One portaro 240 D is in the museum of Caramulo, where are also the official cars of the presidents of the Portuguese Republic, and the other one, a Portaro Campina 320, is in the museum of transport and communications, in the city of Porto.

I live near Setúbal, i don't have a Portaro but i have the change of buying a ARO 10, but i dont know if it is possible to find part for it.
Thank you for the specs, one friend told me that Portaro included a air compressor, but i cant find any reference to it in the specs.

In Romania You find spare Parts for ARO 10. But, even in Portugal You must find many of ARO 10 Parts, because there are a lot of them identic whit Renault 12. The difference is the Price! But, in Portugal there was imported just a small number of ARO 10.

Nice town. I've been there last year to eat the famous fried octopus and swim in the beautiful island of Troia.
I regret to inform you that it will be not easy to find spare parts for your Aro 10 in Portugal.
Even the Renault 12 components, like Werner said, are already rare.
However, try the Darmy's Company, at Pinhal Novo, or the scraps in Quinta do Carmo, at Sacavém.

The owner of the portaro 240 D, who is in the Caramulo museum, did an excellent restoration job, since the jeep was in very bad condition. Enjoy the allowed photos of the restoration, step by step.
