Post by Mira9 »

Hello guys. My name is Miroslav, I live in Czech Republic in Radikovice and I work for AUTO MAX company, importer of ARO for Czech Republic. Thank you for creating such a wonderful forum, I hope I will be able to visit it regurarly. I can see there are already pictures of very nice AROs, I will share some pictures of ours too. Here you have few pics. from my computer, however I would like to scan AUTO MAX archive photos one day, because I em sure it would be interesting for you. There are AROs in 80s and 90s, our racing activities including 24 hours offroad racing with L25 powered cars, beating Toyotas and Suzukis, etc.
What a pity I can not read or write in Romanian, but I will try to use google translator.

We are still huge fans of ARO there in Czech Republic, trying to keep it alive as long as possible. Nice to be there at the forums with people with the same "illness" - beeing ARO fan :D

Amazing photos!!!... :o

You can create your only topic and post photos and all the information that you have about "Auto Max" files.
It will be great...
We look forward to.
I also like the old czechoslovakian trucks, like Tatra.

Hi, why the first picture is just half? It is ARO 332? Or it is Automax-made?

Hello to all of you. I'm glad you like the pictures. Perhaps I could create AUTO MAX thread, but I'm not sure if I would be able to put something new every day or at least often enough :)

Werner: The first picture is not only the half, it is just too big resollution for your screen I think. All pictures are 1024x768. If you will save the picture to your hard drive, you will see it is complete.

It is ARO 330, originally with Romanian lorry plattform. Here is picture before it was pickup. There were not many clients for 330 lorry in Czech Republic, so we decided to lenghten pickup plattform from ARO 324. And it looks nice or at least interesting I think ;) This 330 with pickup plattform was unbelivably good in offroad, because it was very light.

Hi guys. Sorry, was at the business trip in Croatia. It seems that AMC will supply UAZ vehicles to Croatia and Serbia :) If you know somebody in Romania who would be interested, tell me. There are very interesting profits and no competition - AMC owns the homologation and decides about exclusivity.

Regading mods of my AROs, these are cars that came back from our customers. They was very cheap, about 600 EUR, so I told myself why not :) Only modification I think is LPG (compressed gas), but it was done by our customers. Then there are some aditional lights and frames, but nothing too special. I cleaned them, changed broken parts, changed seats for brand new, changed door panels for brand new, made electric components running, light lighting and changed fluids. The newer one had rotten one of the rubber silent blocks holding the body (the one under co-drivers legs), but it was the only worse corrosion this car had.

To be honest, I do not have these two AROs anymore, I sold them before few months. Reason was, that these cars were owned by forest-mining company, both were used in hard conditions, repaired by parts from Skoda cars, etc. But do not worry, instead I purchased ARO 240, which we sold in 1999 to Geodetical bureau of Czech Republic. This ARO has 20 thousand km driven and as far as I can say, this is the most brand-new-like ARO 240 in Czech Republic. There is some work needed to be done, but it is very nice start for restoration in few years. I hope you will like it.

Few more pictures of my old AROs:
